Why this is more than just a JOB to me
I am a lover of all things antiquity. I wholeheartedly believe in the power of energies, You Get what you give and that's MY truth. In my world objects hold memories like physical time stamps, an emotional energy bank of sorts. For example, Say you love all the different Corning ware patterns, you love them so much that you decide to start collecting them. You spend a large amount of time going here and there, spending your money on expensive rare single editions. You use these for loved ones birthday dinners, weddings, conversational pieces, decoration, gifts, funerals....the list goes on and on. You use these things in situations where energies run high and emotions run deep. Objects can serve as memory banks for us when present in a moment or present in our lives. Every time you look at the Blue corn flower baking dish you can still smell the last casserole you made your sister before she died. The apple pie you baked for your husbands promotion 5 years ago and the loneliness you felt making the single serve meatloaf after your kids went off to college. They are able to keep that feeling for you and transfer it back when the time comes. what happens when you eventually die? all these memory banks get taken to a dusty thrift store by your great great nephews wife, dropped off, placed on a floor level shelf behind a box of who knows what and lay forgotten for the rest of their existence. It's the biggest shame I've ever known to occur.
I've spent a lot of time in and out of thrift stores and yard sales, storage buildings, abandoned homes and 150 yr old barns collecting the things I know would have a story to tell. I clean up and fix them all while enjoying the energy they bring. I breath life back into these things because the memories and the emotions they carry shouldnt be wasted......it should be shared.
Every Sun catcher and chime I make is hand made using pieces of these things I've rescued from those back shelves. its a great responsibility in keeping these old memories alive and its a special gift to be the one able to add your memories right along beside them.
